Hydrangea is a draping, lush, lace cowl, named after the gorgeous flowers this colorway and lace pattern both resemble. It's light enough to knit any time of year, even when the bunches of blooms are nodding on the bushes. And it's wearable from summer nights to winter mornings. The pattern comes as a downloadable 3-page pdf file and is charted. The project calls for US size 10.5 needles and this gorgeous DK yarn.
This is by far my favorite yarn, my desert island yarn without a single doubt. It's Pico Accuardi Dyeworks Marco DK. I'm teaming up with Stevanie, who created the yarn, to sell patterns and kits! I've never been able to offer a kit before. I think you'll love this one.
You choose a colorway from those below, and you receive more than enough of Pico Accuardi Dyeworks' springy, delicious Marco DK merino. The kit comes with a full skein of the yarn, so you will have a good deal leftover for coordinating mitts or other small accessories.

Choose a kit colorway! You can choose Hydragea--the colorway shown in the cowl photos above--or one of these other beautiful colorways. Please note that the yarn is hand dyed in shockingly small batches, and each skein is a work of art like no other. Like with all hand dyed yarn, these pictures are representations of the colorway, but skeins will vary, all in lovely ways.
From top left, left to right: Dark Gwendolyn, Anna, Zach's Guitar, Red Shift, Sedona, Bleeding Heart, Aidy Lady, Ocean of Noise, Michelle (which typically also has more of a silver/gray component), with the tin can there are two colors, Agent 99, a brilliant mottled yellowy green, and Goodwin's Gold, a deeply sun drenched gold, Tiberius, Marc's Blueberry Eyes, Brandon's Rainy Day, Iris, Jules Verne, and Fanta.
Final note: There are hat kits to come, too! Next post!
