That is what I need to raise from now until my Run for Congo Women on 6/23 in order to sponsor two sisters total. That's half my original goal, but still pretty amazing. So as I run, I can think about half a sponsorship for every mile I complete. But thinking about, well, "39% of" or something is just not the same.
I know we can do it. Knitters have given great amounts to great causes far and wide, via blogs and other sites. To MS rides, to Races for Cures, to Doctors Without Borders, and to Heifer International. I just wrote about our powerful generosity, so I know, I really know.
And I feel good about us finding a donor a day to give $14 (thus covering paypal expenses as well) until June 23rd. We will make it and I can think about half a sponsorship per mile! Please help me by spreading the word if you feel like it.
Oh, and if you do donate (use the paypal link at the end of this post to donate), please let me know if I can use you as Donor of the Day. Y'know, use your blog name and link to you for the day. Or you can nominate another link of the day, if you are feeling anonymous. Say, something about yarn or something about algae, whatever you're into. Let me know what you would like me to link to when I announce we have a donor for the day. It would be beneficial to the effort, I think, if I made a big deal of this each day until race day.
p.s. Sarah, if you have your baby in the next 12 days I'm going to need to not only knit more faster (mental note: knit more faster), but also find a replacement live blogger for the race. Any ideas?
